  • Isha Yoga Center


    The Isha Yoga Center, founded under the aegis of Isha Foundation, is set at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains in southern India. Created as a powerful sthana (a center for inner growth), this popular destination attracts people from all parts of the world and is unique in its offering of all the four major paths of yoga - gnana(knowledge), karma (action), kriya (energy), and bhakthi (devotion)..
    The center houses the architecturally distinctive Spanda Hall and garden, a 64,000 sq. ft. meditation hall and program facility that is the venue for many residential programs catering to various groups. The Yoga Center contains the Dhyanalinga, a unique and powerful energy-form sitting under a pillarless 250,000-brick dome structure as well as Theerthakund, a sacred underground water body. Every week, thousands of people converge at this unique meditation center to seek out inner peace and wellbeing.
    Also located at the Yoga Center are the Isha Rejuvenation Center and Isha Home School. The Vanaprastha accommodation on the premises was designed to give people with families the opportunity to come and be involved with the center.
    A large residential facility houses an active international community of Brahmacharies, full-time volunteers, guests, and visitors, making it a vibrant hub of activity and an optimal environment to pursue one's growth.

    OOTY
    Ooty, also known as Udhagamandalam, is a hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, in southern India. Surrounded by trees, central Ooty Lake is a huge artificial expanse of water with pleasure boats. On the slopes of nearby Elk Hill, the Rose Garden is home to over 2,000 varieties of roses. The Government Botanical Garden, created in the 19th century, features ferns, orchids and a prehistoric, fossilized tree.

    Kovai Kutralam

    Kovai Kutralam is a scenic spot with a gentle waterfall originating on the Siruvani hill ranges. It is located on the western ghat mountain range that lies to the west of this city at a distance of about 35 kms from Coimbatore. The siruvani dam is just above this water fall and this place is under the control of forest department. Permission has to be sought from them to visit this Kovai Kutralam Falls. Limited bus service is available from the city and this area is out of bounds after 5 pm. This is the only place near Coimbatore where you find a nice enchanting waterfall.


    Black Thunder

    Black Thunder is the finest water theme park located at the foot of the Nilgiri Mountains near Coimbatore. And it considered the biggest water theme park in whole of Asia. This theme park encompasses a sprawling area of greenery and natural landscapes. It extends to nearly 65 acres of rustic land near the forest boundary.
    The Black Thunder theme Park has many entertaining games for children and adults alike. Luxury accommodations are available for family and for other tourists. Tourists come here for holidaying with their family and have endless fun. Corporate meetings and casual get-togethers are common with conference halls and board rooms available here. Lunch is served in the open lawn that appears like a green carpet. A multi cuisine restaurant caters to all sorts of menu that is popular with people. Other facilities in the offing are a Health club, forty deluxe rooms for stay, a bar, coffee shop and children’s play area.A massive 12 acre land is available for parking. The nearest access from Coimbatore to Black Thunder can be by road or train to Mettupalayam.


    Brookefields 

    Brookefields is a shopping mall located on Brookebond Road (Krishnasamy Road) in CoimbatoreIndia. It was opened in 2009. The mall has outlets from major clothing and apparel brands and a six screen multiplex cinema, along with a food court serving multi-cuisine dishes.


    Marudhamalai

             Subramaniyaswami Temple, Marudamalai is a popular hill temple dedicated to Hindu god Murugan, situated near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Like most Murugan temples, the temple is situated upon a hillock, part of the Western Ghats about 15 km west from the city of Coimbatore. Near the foothill, there is a temple for Pillayar known as the "Thaan thondri Vinaayakar". There is a cave referred to as "Paambaatti Sitthar Kugai" dedicated to a Sitthar who lived here.



    VOC Park and Zoo

    VOC Park and Zoo is among chief amusement centres in the region. The recreational centre maintained by corporation of Coimbatore is named after famous freedom fighter, V.O. Chidambaram.Among the highlights of the amusement park are aquarium and mini zoo, housing contrasting aquatic species and animal life. Models of dinosaurs, Golf swing, Slider, Train safari, See-saw and other playing equipment for children are featured in the recreational park.

    Anamalai Tiger Reserve
    Anamalai Tiger Reserve, earlier known as Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park (IGWLS&NP) and previously as Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, is a protected area located in the Anaimalai Hills of PollachiValparai and Udumalpet taluks of Coimbatore District and Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu state, South India. The Tamil Nadu Environment and Forests Department by a notification dated 27 June 2007, declared an extent of 958.59 km2 that encompassed the erstwhile IGWLS&NP or Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, as Anamalai Tiger Reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. According to the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the Reserve presently includes a core area of 958.59 km2 and buffer/peripheral area of 521.28 km2 forming a total area of 1479.87 km2.
